Obama and LOVE

Image
Hiiii...Long time. It's been a while. I've not blogged for over 3 weeks now - it's because I've been busy, y'know. Very busy. I have loads of stuff to write about but I pray I have time to write them. Let me use this opportunity to thank you all for your responses on my last post - It's Sacred, Yet Abused' - Thank you, thank you, thanks a million. I'll bring the part 2 soon... A lot of bloggers have written what Obama's win means to them - even 'skypers' have sent theirs. I don't disagree with anyone, but I know what it means to me. Hmm! But what does it mean to me? Before I say what it means to me, let me congratulate the black race for this outstanding and life-time victory. It'll forever remain in our memory - we are black and we're strong; able to take the most powerful seat in the world... Here's what Obama's win means to me... I was sitting in my hotel room at Atlantis Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai at about 5am Dubai...

It's Sacred...Yet abused 1.

I get to do this almost everyday. I really enjoy doing it because it makes me know more about the people I'm doing it with and more about life. What's it? You'd ask. It's chatting...I actually love using Skype ( www.skype.com ) because there I have a lot of new friends - people I've never met before and share opinions with them, other than Yahoo! messenger where 3/4 of my childhood friends are. So, everyday, I log on to Skype to see what's new to talk about. At times, I put up a 'Do not disturb' sign. But people like Phemnahs ; Arinola (when she was still in Nigeria); Femi Ajayi; Ife Anishe; etc wouldn't ever honour the sign. No wahala o. I'm not angry. (LOL). Okk. What's this about Skype? I logged on one beautiful day and the first person that chatted with me was 'B' (name withheld, but his name starts with 'B'). 'B' is a he and I'm very fond of him, though we've not met. He's just natural - really l...

And God Created Women

Image
God said....When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you. Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity. From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man's life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do. Around this one bone I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to...

The Truth about Marriage

This is an interesting piece and I thought I should share with y’all. I love marriage. Most of us do – and even yearn for it. But it’s beyond romance, looks, or what’s in the pocket. Marriage is for matured minds, not jerks, who wake up one morning, find a beautiful lady on the main road with hot legs and they thought, oh! That’s my wife or a lady who just come across a guy with a nice Camry and working with Zain and she feels, hmmm, this is God sent. Now, isn’t marriage a delicate thing? You’d ask. No. It takes God! It takes direction and wisdom from him. It takes maturity –in person and in God. So that when he starts dumping his shirts on the settee in the sitting room, or when he doesn’t appreciate you cooking or when he compares you with his friend’s wife constantly or when snores or when he shouts at you on a little mistake…You’ll go down on your knees and ask Him who can take hold of his ‘bad attitude’ to do so. You’d forgive no matter what. And when she starts nagging or too dir...

How to Handle Rejection

Image
Got this on Yahoo! and couldn’t resist it. A lot of times we face rejection – we’re being rejected by the opposite sex. But how do we handle it? You’ve been eyeing her for a long time and you feel it’s high time you told her your intentions, and then you walked up to her, in your best suit or jeans, with your best smile and all. You open up to her and tell her of your undying love for her, only to get a NO for an answer. Wew! You feel, ‘But I’m handsome and I know I’m right for her…’ You probably met online and he’s been telling you how beautiful you are. He’s not seen you, but merely judging from your looks in your picture on Facebook! He’s told you how he’d love to meet and make you his wife and arranged for you to meet at Tastees Fried Chicken (TFC). You agreed to the meeting and put on your best make-up from Black Opal and your best gown from collectibles. You entered the restaurant, greeted him with a smile, talked briefly, and then all of a sudden after 20min...

I'm Still Thinking...

I was just wondering...Why can't a lady walk up to a guy that she loves so so dearly and ask him out? Why do ladies have to love and die in silence when all they need to do is just walk up to the one and say 'I love you'? Oh, so a man is the head. Apologies to those that see me as a feminist (Phemnahs - www.phemnahs.blogspot.com ; Bayo Atunwa). I'm not one. I'm just asking out of curiousity. I'm just thinking. What's wrong in a lady being the head of a family (they do it in Ghana)? Just thinking. (I choose not to be that anyway. I want my husband to be the man and not me. I love being pampered, spoilt and I can't get that if I'm the man - Just just thinking). Why should the man be the provider or bread winner, as the case may be? Why should it be the lady who has to please the in-laws and it is the other way round for the guys? I'm just thinking...Share your thoughts and comments.
